So I called in Sunday and other shift leads started viewing my social media stories. Tuesday I called in because my uncle passed away. I let management know, and received no response. As soon as I call in, shift leads go onto my social media and follow me (harassment). I let my SM know that this coming Tuesday would be the funeral in which I’m told “it’s your responsibility”. I understand that but the blatant disregard and disrespect is crazy. Next week I’m on the schedule for 1 day, when I normally work 4, which is definitely retaliation because I’ve called in.

I understand call outs don’t look good, and I’ve been here for 3 years no call ins until this year. I also understand uncles are not part of bereavement, but family is family. Not what Walgreens determines “family”. I’m only part time so honestly I really don’t care about this job. All I know, is even as a shift lead I’ve gone out of my way to care for my coworkers while they’re going through LIFE.
