Memoirs of witnesses to historical events

Hoping for suggestions for first person memoirs of people who witnessed (or participated in) historical events. These need not be ‘very serious people’ commanding armies or curing diseases (but can be).

For example, two on my TBR list are:

Lucille Ball’s memoir as she was a pivotal figure in American television and pop culture with influence likely to continue into the future.

Chuck Yeager’s biography. A war hero and important pioneer of our space program.

Thanks in advance
