Quit yesterday for real!
I definitely want to smoke today, but I saw advice from someone that said count down your last cigarettes to mentally prepare you to actually have a last cigarette and that really helped. It was on my break at work, I sat on a bench in the sun and I was honestly kind of sad because smoking was like a friend when I worked a job I hated, I got fired from that job on trumps Inauguration Day, dealing with unemployment, it was a social crutch when I felt anxious and to be honest I always thought it looked cool to smoke cigs and still do (but I won’t). I know these are kind of childish mentalities (it’s a friend, it looks cool) because I know realistically long term smokers will most likely die because of it in some form or fashion. I just noticed my gums receding and that’s what made me want to stop, I just finished brushing my teeth softly and flossing, and I’m going to get mouth wash and sensodyne toothpaste and a soft toothbrush so I’m not too aggressive on my gums. Wish me luck yall :)
