Garage vs Training Room

Hey guys, sorry if this question sounds stupid, I’m just a low-functioning, single-brained zogoit barely scraping by here. But can someone explain the actual difference between the garage and the training room? From what I’ve managed to gather with my pathetic comprehension, they both improve character skills, but the training room also gives BP through simulations?

Honestly, forget it. Trash like me shouldn’t waste your time. I’m probably not even worthy of using the reply function. Just pretend I never asked and let me rot in my own ignorance.

(Please no spoilers — I’m on day 45 of my first playthrough and still trying to make sense of things, slowly and painfully.)
