Is now a bad time to try and start as an apprentice? (613)

I’m almost 30 and want to start a real career rather than working in the service industry forever. My worry is that with the political situation I might go from stable full time employment (I’m a manager) to not having income if there’s no work from a potential incoming recession.

Beyond that I’ve been applying for tons of other jobs before this was put on my radar and can’t seem to make any headway so I’m not even certain I’d be accepted into an apprenticeship.

I was just curious if I could get some input from some guys on the inside.
