Upgrading GPU from 1080ti.

Build Help

Hi all,

So i have had my 1080ti since launch, founders edition. I recently only just took took it apart to clean it and re thermal paste, well it was definitely needed it was horrific inside. Now I have fan rattling whine noise which I have tried to replace the fan but one of the screws holding the card together became cross threaded, I tried one of them extractor tools etc, could not get it to work. The card works perfectly fine, no itemp issues or performance issues it just is really noisy.

I was planning on upgrading my whole PC soon but am wondering if I can skimp some money.

I did a partial PC upgrade about 4 years ago now maybe just under 4 years ago, I upgraded my CPU, new case, new aio, new power supply, new motherboard but same graphics card.

My current specs :

CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x

Corsair H100I Elite capillex

32gb 3000mhz corsair ram.

Corsair 800w or 750w PSU I cant remember

AM4 Gigabyte motherboard.

1080ti Founders edition.

I have always played at 1080p for 8 years now and I want to go to 1440p. I play mix of games, battlefields, fortnite, forza horizon, spider man, gta 5, including five m, squad too.. A mix of CPU and GPU intensive and mix of high fps and lower fps games.

I always wanted to stick to max settings as much as possible and the 1080ti has done that for me at 1080p for so long and still does, although I know its not got a lot of life left for future games.

Anyway,

I was thinking of fully rebuilding my PC, with ryzen 7 9800x3d, new aio, new motherboard obviously, ddr5 ram, a good almost £2000 build with 5070ti to really future proof it, I don't want to upgrade every 2 years.

I was thinking, could I skimp a bit as I did an upgrade a few years ago, go with a 5060ti for £400 and upgrade my monitor to 1440p? Will the ryzen 7 5800x be okay for a few more years to come?

Thank you all for any help, as I expect you all know, things arent cheap these days.
