Is YSL Y for men same scent as Acqua di Gio?

Question

Newbie fragrance head here. Someone gifted by YSL Y for men.

I like other YSL scents: L’Homme and La Nuit especially.

The Y for men, comes in a blue bottle. To me it smells absolutely indistinguishable from Acqua di Gio, to the point that I’m questioning myself haha. Has anyone else found that? It smells almost outdated to me because of that…maybe because people around me wore Acqua for many many years.

So here’s my newbie question: do most “blue”/water etc related scents fall in this line of similar scent? Is this the archetype one should expect? And is there anything in this line that is still fresh but a departure from notes in Acqua di Gio?

Thanks all
