I recently just finished my honour run to try out the new subclasses and I think I turned Gale into a monster with 51 AC as a bladesinging wizard. I thought I’d share with everyone.

Gear:
Warped Headband of Intellect: make his int 17, important for spell casting and leave room for other ability points.
Cloak of Protection: +1 AC and Saving Throw
Robe of the Weave: +2 AC, +1 Spell Save DC, regain Hit Points upon succeeding spell Saving throws (helpful because he has very high saving throws)
Bracers of Defence: +2 AC because he is not wearing any armour ~wild
Evasive Shoes: +1 AC
Fey Semblance Amulet: Advantage on intelligent, wisdom, and charisma saving throws!
Strange conduit Ring: 1d4 psychic damage if concentrating on a spell which he will be most of the time.
Ring of Protection: +1 to AC and Saving Throws
Shadow Blade: I got this from the spell of the same name that you can pick up when he levels up. It can be up casted for lots of damage!
Bloodthirst: your attacks crit at 19 and 20, +1 to AC, AND if someone misses you with an attack which they WILL, you can hit them back with a reaction and gain True Strike! Insane!
AC total from gear: 8
Saving throws total from gear: 3

Buffs:
Anointed in Splendour: +2 to Saving Throws
Warding Bond: +1 to AC and Saving Throws AND Resistance to all damage, which pair really well with the Resonance Stone because it eliminates the psychic vulnerability, and since Gale only deal psychic damage his damage output will double. The only downside is that the person who cast this on him will take damage if gale does, but I don’t think we need to worry about that..
Freedom of Movement: can’t be affected by Difficult Terrain, can’t be paralyzed or restrained.
Mage Armor: +3 to AC
Shield of Faith: +2 to AC
Bladesong: +4 to AC and +4 to Con saves
Haste: +2 to AC and an extra action, he will attacks for a total of 3 times now with an average of 35 dmg per hit or 70 if you carry resonance stone. You can even have someone casts Haste on Gale and have him concentrate on Blur instead for disadvantaged on all attacks against him. I just thought it would be overkill.
Mirror Image: +9 to AC
Shield: +5 to AC
Song of Defence: if somehow they managed to crit and attack him, he resists to that type of damage thanks to warding and song of defence can reduce that damage further by spending spell slots.
Aura of Protection (paladin): +6 to saving throws, this is the only class you need other than Gale to get this buff.
Others: there are some other buffs that increase his Hit Points limit and movement speed that I won’t include here.
