Turbidity/HGB Interference due to Agglutination
So this is something interesting I came across using our Sysmex. Had the turbidity flag, noticed the patients RBCs were agglutination, which they weren't before. Found out that secondary CAD can be due to infectious mono, CMV, and even Mycoplasma pneumonia, and others.
Patient recently had a positive antibody titer for Mycoplasma pneumonia. MCHC was like 50.. prewarm and warm saline replacement.. over the next couple days it dropped and only had to prewarm sample for 30min.
Drop cool correlations or findings in comments!
