Guys , Honest answers please, does opensource AI agentic libraries worth it ? Or just hype?

I've been trying various agentic ai libraies. None of them gave me the impression of ultimate customization. My question is , does anyone use these agentic workflows for production? I feel like it could eat up a massive amount of tokens given a s context for each request. For tool calling agents , if the response is not in a parsable format , it will retry again with whole context making it inefficient.
