1000 Mile Review
I just wanted to write up a quick review as my wife and I are a little over 1k miles in her 25 (legacy) MYLR AWD!
Purchased in February to replace my wife’s ICE vehicle. We both did individual demo drives and she absolutely loved it. Also, as new EV owners with no home charging (apartment life) we wanted something that wouldn’t overwhelm us.
Charging - the only reason I felt comfortable purchasing an EV without home charging is because my wife and I both work from home and honestly just do quick little errands here and there during the week and the occasional weekend outing. We also still have my ICE vehicle. I also made sure there were superchargers near us and lucky for me we have two (8min away and 15min away). Charging for us has not been an inconvenience.
Ride - 1k miles in and I can definitely agree with what most folks have mentioned here, there can be a lot of road noise at times and the ride isn’t the smoothest however I find the ride height, seats and the overall ease of the driving experience to be awesome. Pre cooled cabin, address sent and music ready to go especially with a kid, love it! Just hop in and go! I drive in Chill mode so that I can have some self control lol and I’m still able to have some safe fun whenever I want.
Build Quality - I would be lying if I said I didn’t spend the first month driving around paranoid that something was going to fall off the car whenever I hit some rough roads 😂. This was of course due to everything you read online but our MY has been great so far, no issues with build quality.
Tech - Absolutely love it except for it not having blind spot monitoring (my 22 civic has spoiled and annoyed me at times lol). Speaking of my Civic, it feels outdated and clunky in comparison to the tech on this thing! I only started using FSD towards the end of our trial period as I wanted to drive the car first and I’ll probably be able to speak on it more after next month when we take our first real road trip and will subscribe for the month.
Space - For a family of three and soon to be four (toddler and another gremlin on the way) it’s been great. Haven’t used the frunk much, travel stroller lives in the trunk and still have plenty, plenty of space. Getting the kid in and out has been a breeze, moving the kid around the backseat (diaper changes, etc..) have been a breeze due to the great headroom and legroom.
Overall - Very impressed with this thing, I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone. You cannot beat what you get for the price. I love it so much that I’m finally trading in my Civic for a M3LR RWD (new or used to be determined). I highly recommend you demo drive a Tesla before buying and also consider your charging situation as again this only works for us because we both work from home and hardly drive if not I would’ve went hybrid.
