Sons father (ex bf) starts arguments before any major holiday

I recently noticed a pattern with my son’s father, and on and off again bf. He starts arguments before any holiday just to have an excuse to not buy me anything. We had an argument today and low and behold, today is Mother’s Day. I haven’t even received a simple happy Mother’s Day text, I’m not upset, just irritated that he does this purposely lol. He’s a very weird individual.
