PhD Project: Interested in an investment strategy that profits from rising wealth inequality?
Hi everyone,
I’m a PhD student at Politecnico di Milano currently conducting research on a new financial tool that leverages the structural rise in wealth inequality. Over the past few decades, the wealth gap has evolved into a macroeconomic force reshaping global markets. The top 1% now owns over 35% of global wealth, while the bottom 50% holds just 2% (sources: WID.world, Financial Times).
This persistent trend has created a market opportunity that traditional financial instruments have largely overlooked. I’m conducting a market size analysis to understand whether there's real interest in a product that directly capitalizes on the systemic effects of inequality—and to explore the feasibility of developing an index that tracks this phenomenon.
If you're an investor or finance professional, your perspective is extremely valuable. I’ve put together a short survey to gather insights and assess the potential of this idea.

Those who complete the survey can also opt in to receive exclusive early access to backtest results and progress updates.
Thanks so much for your time!
