Induction with fgr

Discussion

I am 39+1 and a FTM

I was late to pre natal care and got my first scan at 22 weeks. I was like 95-100 lbs pre pregnancy and I’m 5’3 the dad is 5’7 I am now 122 lbs, still small just a lot of belly.

I’ve been in and out of mfm because my initial growth scan at 26 weeks was in the 13th percentile, and they wanted me to have constant monitoring because they were worried that he might have fgr. So I went in a couple weeks later and he dropped to the 5th percentile and during that time they wanted me to come in weekly for monitoring to see if I needed to give birth early. My doctor was saying if he dropped below 3rd at that time I would have needed to be induced at 37 weeks. I went in and every test result, his blood flow and heart rate were all good. Then he went up to the 12th percentile and my doctor said we were all good for a natural birth no medication or induction needed. They so wanted me to go in for growth scans though so the next scan I went to a couple weeks later he was the 8th percentile but because all of his test results were fine they were suggesting 39 weeks for induction. I’m pretty sure growth scans are extremely less accurate during the third trimester so I’m also worried because of that.

I am scheduled to go in today for induction and I’m really worried of complications happening because I really don’t want to get induced. But I do want my baby to be safe. I just know that inductions come with their own set of risks and I just feel like those risks are bigger than just waiting. And I’m just having worries and doubts. I am worried about taking pitocin because I know that it can cause fetal distress and even lead to c section, most people can’t do that without pain medication and if I take pain meds I won’t be able to feel when to push, i know it can mess with your natural birth hormones and can cause issues breastfeeding. Things of that nature.

I don’t need medical advice just support. like how inductions can be handled, letting me know based off y’all’s experience if it possible and or reasonable to take pitocin without epidural meds, and support on how fgr’s go.
