Confused about act 3

I'm a bit confused as to why the game even opened up? I am level 49ish and playing on expert and wanted to do some side areas or max out my friendship levels but problem is every single friendship dungeons is marked with danger and I'm coming across many bosses and areas that I'm still under levelled for? Do I just go straight to the boss then at this point idd how to go about it.
