How do I go about my day without provoking the downstairs neighbor?

I (29 m) live with my elderly parents in public housing. My shift often starts at seven in the morning, and since the commute usually takes me an hour by foot, I had to wake up at 5 am, just to shower, eat breakfast, get dressed, and make it there without panicking. On rare occasions, my shift would even start at 6 am, requiring me to wake up even earlier. Of course, my constant moving around eventually put me at odds with the downstairs neighbor, who apparently thinks that I’m lifting weights whenever I walk around in my work boots. While I do lift weights, I never work out this early.

She first spoke to my father about it around ten in the morning, but he didn’t say much of anything because he’s hard of hearing and barely speaks English. I was in the kitchen eavesdropping, because I was far too self-conscious to explain myself to some strange woman in my boxers.

I quickly forgot about her, and decided to work out right before I went to bed, at 10 pm. I realize that it was a stupid and inconsiderate move in hindsight, but I wasn’t trying to deliberately provoke the neighbor; I had honestly put her out of my mind, and just didn’t want to miss a work out that day. I woke up the following day at around 4:30 am, already extremely irritable and reluctant to walk an hour for a dead-end job that paid me peanuts for simply standing around all day. I saw red when she rang on my doorbell at 5:00 am to make my elderly parents “feel it.” My father and I berated her, not letting her get a word in edgewise, and even though I was wearing my work boots and uniform, as well as mentioning that I had to get to work, she didn’t appear to process what I was saying and simply told me not to work out. She threatened to complain to the landlord, while my father laughed her off and dared her to call the cops instead. We ultimately shut the door on her without coming to an understanding at all.

Months later, I was lying in bed, silently cursing my own unhappy circumstances until I heard a loud banging that appeared to come from the walls next to me, followed by a vicious pounding from downstairs. I later discovered that the first sequence of noises had come from my heating system, but I initially thought that my downstairs neighbor was trying to pick a fight with me, and just stomped on the floor once in response. Of course, she rang on my doorbell again, but since I had just gotten out of bed and wasn’t appropriately dressed for a screaming match this early in the morning, I just pleaded with my father to “ignore the crazy (expletive) and go back to sleep.” She unfortunately heard me, and my drowsy, disoriented father decided to atone for my disrespect by opening the door and letting her go off on him as her boyfriend silently stood by. She challenged me to “say it to her face,” but I just stood in the kitchen again, like an indignant and impotent coward.

I realize that I probably sound like a selfish prick, and won’t be making friends with her or her boyfriend anytime soon, but I don’t want to unnecessarily provoke them any more than I already have. I’ve already brought myself a road bike to massively shorten my commute and wake up later. I’ve also decided to put on my work shoes immediately before I leave, so as to minimize the noise. I’ve also stopped working out right before bed. On days where my shift starts at 7 am, I usually work out at 5 or 7 pm, at the very latest. On days where I have to show up at 3 pm, I usually work out by noon. Do you guys think that it would reasonable to work out at eleven in the morning, or would I still be annoying her?
