Taking a photo of a card

What should you use to take a photo of a card for an ebay store?

I tried my phone camera but I noticed that only a portion can be in focus at a time, instead of the whole card, and it's pretty annoying. None of the extra options seem to be helpful. Is a cheap camera better at this? How's that vs a flatbed scanner vs?
