Please Don't Piss Me Off - Today!

Before I get started, I want to loudly shout Happy Mother's Day to the mothers. The ones who did (and are continuing to do) the selfless work that motherhood entails - I see you, I appreciate you, and if no one told you today, you're a blessing; a true reflection of unconditional love. Thank you for your whole body sacrifice.

Now Lil' Wayne lighter flick let me address what this post is really about...

If you're a woman that his given birth and abandoned (let me clarify, because I know how some of y'all like to tussle, what I mean by abandoned - I'm not referring to the women that put their children up for adoption to allow them an opportunity at a life they can't provide at this time, nor am I referring to the women that have children in the care of others while they actively better themselves or whose children were taken because of their finances or mental health - I AM REFERRING to the women that have burdened the people in their lives to raise their children while they run the streets, have more children they can't show up for, or have children out of spite/for the wrong reason) their children...

The audacity it takes to post a child or children whose lives you aren't actively participating in is nothing short of unfathomable. I'm looking at posts of children some women haven't posted since this time last year and it's nauseating. You're out here living your life and claiming spaces today meant for the actual mothers taking on your responsibility, and it is truly pissing me - clean smooth the fuck off. Please sit today out.

I'm not saying this to point fingers or shame anyone, but as a childless woman who has stood at the back of the class representing (and defending you to your children) you in your absence - I will hold you fully accountable!

TODAY IS NOT YOUR DAY!

And to the ones like me, showing up without thanks or acknowledgement on days like this, I intimately understand our silent sacrifice.
