[TOMT] 1980s(?) sitcom with bagging contest between store clerks, expected to be won by somebody "from Baghdad"

Catching bits of shows on American broadcast TV sometime in the 2000s, I saw a scene in some sitcom where store clerks (grocery, I think) are having a contest on who can bag items the fastest, and one character introduces his new teammate, a guy who's "from Baghdad", with the implication that because of the dumb pun he will out-bag everyone. (Cue laugh track.)

I remember it looked kind of old when I saw it — from the 1980s, I thought at the time.
