Smart scale accuracy vs trend accuracy
Happy Mother’s Day everyone.
I know we all accept that those smart scales that measure body metrics other than weight aren’t very accurate. All of the readings, I take with a major grain of salt. However; I’m wondering how much less salt I should take the trend lines with.
I’m tweaking out over muscle mass loss. I measure every two weeks, and I’m seeing about a half pound to a pound of muscle loss on each reading. I know that’s well within the margin of error on these scales; but this has been a consistent trend for better than six months now.
Additional context: I lift heavy, correctly, and prioritize protein to a stupid level. Not to sound obnoxious; but I was lifting before it was cool.
