Surge of energy left side of head

When I meditate or feel like I'm spiritually connecting, I literally feel a surge of energy on the upper left side of my head from above my eye. It locks in n sometimes, or when I'm seeing or experiencing something profound.

It feels like the hair standing straight up, everything in that area is surging. Then it dissipates. I have been meditating n connecting for 6 years now. I saw a massage therapist who turned out to be an energy healer too. She told me she sees this connection of mine, it goes thru the left temple n straight back.

Can someone explain to me why this specific area, versus other parts of my head?
