New to Sim Racing with a Wheel – Leaning Toward iRacing for GT3, Looking for Advice

 Question

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up a MOZA R3 and I'm currently trying to decide between iRacing and ACC. I already own both—I’ve purchased iRacing and had ACC for a while. Up until now, I’ve only played with a DualSense controller, so this will be my first time experiencing either sim with a proper wheel. What I’m really after is realism and immersion. I want to feel the car and the road, and get as close to a real-life driving experience as possible.

GT3 is the only class I’m interested in; maybe GTP-LMP2. I’ve heard that ACC does a great job simulating GT3 electronics like ABS and TC, and while that level of accuracy is impressive, I’m concerned that it might dampen the raw feel and sensitivity I’m looking for. I’m actually okay with fewer electronic aids if it makes the experience more challenging and engaging.

That said, iRacing is appealing to me for a few key reasons. I really enjoy the intense, competitive online racing it offers, and I’m not interested in offline modes. I also find iRacing’s graphics more than adequate—I don’t need ultra-detailed visuals like ACC’s.

So right now, I’m leaning toward iRacing, but if there are any important details I might be missing, I’d love to hear your thoughts or advice.

Thanks in advance!
