Runna not showing on Garmin

Hi - I have a Forerunner 265.... my Runna app and Garmin are synced. But if i want to to start one of the Runna exercises, how can I do this from the watch? Sometimes the Runn activities come up, sometimes they don't? Do I need to initiate from the mobile app?
