Xbox Gamepass

My friend owns R2 on Xbox gameplay on PC. He was playing the game earlier today just fine and logged off for about an hour. When he came back, his save files were gone. We can't find anything for a cloud save through Xbox PC and online searches are running us in circles. Anyone have any ideas or fixes for this?
