First Injury
I started running about 8 weeks ago, and the Nike app has transformed my thinking about running from attempts to become a runner in pat years.
Today, I decided to go out for the third day in a row for a for the first time. I wasn't feeling great, but figured an easy paced long run with permission to walk as needed would still be fine. I was doing exactly that ..not pushing myself, walking as needed, when my hamstring tightened up. I stopped to stretch and walk, but I'm afraid I've strained it.
I'm bummed. I'm a mile away from earning the Orange level in the app. Silly maybe, but the idea of running 30 miles in two months felt like an impossible task and now I'll likely need to take more time off than I'd like to get it.
So...any advice on how to treat a mild hamstring injury and the mental side of being forced to take some time off? I really don't want to lose the progress that I've made.
