UK BRP / eVisa, Indian passport — Republic of Ireland visa?
Hi everyone, I am an Indian passport holder with a UK BRP (2 year, graduate route) valid till Jan-'26 (it is currently a UK eVisa). As far as I know, UK BRP holders are required to apply for a Republic of Ireland visa but they are exempt from the application fee. I have submitted my short stay, multiple entry visa application on the AVATS website and then I was redirected to the VFS Global website to set up my biometrics appointment. However, none of the categories under exemption match the BRP category. They have exemptions listed for EEA citizens, family members of Irish citizens, refugees, diplomatic passport holders etc. However, the Irish immigration website clearly states that the visa fee is exempt for BRP holders. How do I get that exemption / waiver? I am aware that the VFS service charge is mandatory, it is specifically the Republic of Ireland visa application fee waiver that I am concerned about.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
