Should I check in early?

Hello. I’m taking my first MSC cruise on Europa in June. I booked a balcony room without YC. I also placed a “strong” bid for an upgrade to YC. I see that there are 10 YC rooms available to book on the cruise I’m sailing on. My question is whether I should check in now, or whether I should hold off and check in at the very last minute? I want to know which option would help my upgrade bid clear, if any. Please let me know if you have any insight. Thank you!
