I haven’t gotten a job through an application since 2017

Granted I’ve only held 3 jobs since 2017 but that was the year I applied and interviewed aggressively for city jobs and finally slipped through the cracks into an admin role. I spent my free time gaining marketing certs and interviewed a lot around 2021, none of them resulted in an offer, but I did get lucky with a recruiter. This is when marketing was thriving in the COVID era. My next role was by referral. With marketing going through a Big Crunch I find myself filling out applications again for a more specialized role.
