Help understanding this issue in a AEG t520 dryer

Hi all,

I’m wondering if anyone might know what’s causing this issue with my dryer. It starts running, but then it repeatedly stops and starts again, eventually stopping completely.
Is this something I could potentially fix myself, or does it sound like a more serious issue that would take too long or be beyond repair?
