Should I make a separate channel for SHORTS?

So... I have a YouTube channel where I upload tool/EDC related SHORT and LONG form videos.

Lately my LONG form videos have reached a very small audience, I have the feeling it's because I have a lot of Subscribers from my SHORTS and as they rarely watch LONG form it's not being pushed forward.

As I do want to continue uploading both types of videos, I've been considering separating them in 2 channels so one is for SHORTS viewers, one is for LONG, I would also link them so viewers from one could find the other.

Maybe someone can share their experience on this, how it impacted your channel?
