Mother's Day

This is my first mother's day as a Ftm, baby is coming in August. But we celebrated anyways! I has a good, pretty uneventful day. I did get a couple comments I couldn't celebrate it but ignored it. Anyways I work in retail and had to work on mother's day, I got to talk to this little sweet old couple, and the older lady said something that stuck with me that I wanted to share. She very excitedly said "Happy Mothers Day! I envy you, you are having the best kind of mother's day because your baby is the closest it'll be to you warm and safe!" Possibly the sweetest interaction I've ever had with an elderly lady. It really put days like today into perspective, since I'm feeling overwhelmed, overestimulated, and like I have no personal space with my baby kicking me, the first time I have really felt this way (at least the personal space part). Thanks for listening I hope that quote can help the moms who were told you can't celebrate because your baby isn't earthiness yet.
