Exposure

Just wanted to share a story.

I have three kids, 14, 12, and 6. When it’s nice out my 6 year old likes me to pick him up from school with the wagon, and likes to stay at the playground for about an hour after school to play with friends. Some days the friends he likes to play with have things to do so it’s just us. I’ve been brining a few sticks and balls with me so we can play catch if no ones at the playground.

Yesterday was nice out so there are lots of kids at the playground. A young girl saw the sticks in the wagon and asked what they were. I showed her and asked if she wanted to try. I spent the next half an hour teaching 7-10 kids how to hold the stick and make a pass.

Today when I was picking my son up from school one of the teachers came out and told me that last night her son asked for his fishing net and a tennis ball so he could practice. When she asked him what he was practicing he answered “for lacrosse, I’m a lacrosse player now”.
