Beginner Snake Questions
Hi everyone! I've been looking into getting a snake for a bit now and I definitely need to do more research before getting one but I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on which I should look into getting, I've been looking into getting a ball python, corn snake, or a hognose snake.
I know ball pythons are bigger so for financial reasons I would have to keep it in a 120 gallon tub which I've seen be recommended as an alternative to glass or pvc tanks just until I would have the funds to get one. I think I've been most interested in this one due to them being more docile. There's also quite a view on an adoption site from a rescue I really like and trust whereas I don't know any good sellers for cornsnakes or hognoses.
Corn snakes I've seen been said to be the best beginner snake which I know they would require 40+ gallons which would definitely be cheaper to get a glass tank for. The only reason I'm more iffy on this one I'd I haven't been in love with them like ball pythons or hognoses.
Lastly, I know hognoses are also smaller and would need a smaller tank but I have heard they can be more temperamental and not like being held as much. I am living at home so I don't want any risk of a family member getting bit.
If anyone has any advise I would greatly appreciate it!
