Am I toast?

Last month, I took on a new 40-hour/week client. On paper, it looked great, solid contract, good pay, and I figured I could automate enough to handle it. I messed up. I wasn’t set up properly or quick enough, and the workload piled up fast. It nearly cost me my other client and left me completely burnt out.

That burnout leads me to spending way more on vices like fast food, sugar, etc. Probably not the best way to handle stress...

Ironically, the work I've done for this new client has gone so well that one of their subsidiaries wants to hire me on in a corporate role, and the client wants to keep me on as a contractor but with higher duties/pay. The corporate role offers solid pay and would look good professionally, but I already know the upper management dynamic there.... and honestly, no thanks.

People say I shouldn’t complain... It’s remote, flexible, good money, but the truth is, I’m just not running a profitable business of being self-employed right now when taking everything into consideration. Do I pivot into a field I can actually scale? And if I do, do I ride this out and take the money while I can? On paper, everything's great and fine. But mentally???? That would mean working seven days a week for at least the next two months. Typing that out makes me realize how ridiculous that might sound…

For context, I own two other businesses that do decently and make nice additions to my long-term portfolio. I'm still young, so I don't really need the money, but it'll just be quite nice in 3 months if I'm able to travel the world while I'm working. I know it might sound super privileged of me, but I am dead set in exploring the world over the next 2 years while I'm still young. What do I do in this situation? The current job market isn't looking too hot in my industry, and it would take me at least 3-4 months to find something decent enough I can live off of which would result in me not being able to travel. Do I stop being whiny and suck it up?
