Which SC2 Version are most people playing on? And why?

I used to play a lot of SC2 WOL and HotS in the past, but when LotV came out it felt super bad. Sieged Tanks in medivac literally made me quit the game :D 10 years later I'm motivated to play HotS again, but I'm scared that it's irrelevant because most players prefer LotV? Are there any pro tournament on HotS instead of LotV?
