Confusion with AIMA

Question

My wife had her AIMA's appointment in Agualva-Cacém on 16th January. We're both master's students in Portugal and are both on separate visas (not-dependent) so the application for residence was based on Article 91 (Higher Education Study). I called AIMA today to get an update on the status of her application and the lady on the other end swiftly said something along the lines of "Mid-way...wait for information on email or letter". I tried to clarify with her on this further but she couldn't explain it well in English. After the call, my mind immediately went to the conclusion that this was a case of "missing documents" because AIMA refused to take my wife's Criminal Record Certificate because they said that you had already submitted it when you applied for a VISA. I called again an hour later and this time a guy on the other end, after putting me on hold for 2mins, said that it was still under "Analysis"

Can someone help me understand this?

P.s: I already have my own residence permit issued to me in Feb 2025 as a higher education student.
