Just bought a 2018 4Runner - question about an extended warranty

❔ Product Advice / Recs

Hey folks, I woke up feeling like a kid on Christmas morning yesterday, knowing I was gonna buy a 2018 4Runner SR5 premium with the off-road package. After some negotiation, I brought her home! Absolutely love the car. Huge upgrade from my 2012 Mazda 3.

85k miles, only one owner, and only one minor cosmetic thing was reported. Got it from a reputable Subaru dealer in Billings MT who assures me it's in good shape and they did all the proper inspections etc.

Anyway, I was convinced to leave the dealer with an extended warranty from Alpha Warranty Services -50k miles or 5 years for $1,980. It's the tier 3 exclusionary warranty, so it covers most things except wear and tear items.

I can call and cancel the service within some amount of days for a refund.

After reading a few other posts about it, I am definitely leaning toward canceling it. I also have been led to believe these 4Runners are built like tanks and should last forever with proper maintenance, which it has gotten thus far from the previous owner, per the carfax.

I should cancel and save the ~$2k, right? Thanks in advance
