GTA trilogy, comparison to ps2?

I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the trilogy, but I might be able to buy an Xbox Series S soon which as far as I can tell is the cheapest console GTA6 will be on.

I haven’t played San Andreas since the PS2 version years ago, and haven’t played 3 or Vice City. I’ve been playing 5 on the PS3 since not long after release, if I’m used to these older console am I still likely to be disappointed with the GTA Trilogy game? It seems like the easiest way to get San Andreas on the Xbox S and I’d get 2 new ones I haven’t played yet.

For people who were disappointed with the trilogy, was it the graphics not being good enough or were the games significantly different than they used to be? If I’m used to the PS2 for San Andreas will I probably still like it?
