Which mid size truck?

I’m about to purchase a mid size truck. Downsizing from an inherited 2500 Silverado which is way too big for my needs.

My Needs/Priorities are…

• Extended Cab only
• 2WD
• Tow package
• Reliable

For new trucks, I’ve been eyeing these:

• 2025 Nissan Frontier SV KingCab w/ convenience package
• 2025 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Xtracab

I would put GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado on my list but the new vehicles (2025) don’t offer extended cab versions. So I would also consider a Used Canyon (2021-2022). This one I found used:

2021 GMC Canyon Elevation Standard

Milage is 39k

2WD

3.6L 6-Cylinder Gas paired to the 8 speed trans

Asking price is $28k

So which should I go for? The new 2025 Nissan SV? The 2021 used Canyon? I do love the look of new tacomas but I don’t think it will work for me as there are no rear seats. We have a 6 year old that would fit in the extended cab on the rare times we need.
