The method(s) I used to get my main Play account on the US store.
So I was previously stuck in the South African Play store, which I now realize is horrid. But I wanted more. Namely, stuff I couldn't get here. Books/music etc. So I went about trying to get access to the US play store, and what a mission it was.
As most people know, since around Feb, market unlocker/enabler stopped working. So I found a tutorial on XDA, but it only got me half way. Before starting this, delete the credit card you have linked to the play store. Re-add it to google wallet but with a US address/phone number etc. If you never had a card linked, add one now to google wallet with a US address/number etc.
- Download Tunnel Bear and then force close your play store and play services, and clear the data for both of them.
- Open Tunnel Bear, set it to US and turn it on. Wait for it to connect.
- Go to your droid's settings and then to accounts, Google and add (create) a new account. Make it anything you want and continue until you're done.
- Open the play store and switch to the new account. You should agree to T&C and you should have the new play store. NOTE: This play store disappears after disabling the VPN, so don't yet!
- Open play music (download it if you don't have it), ignore the all access trial and select the NEW account as your play music account, swipe open the left menu and now disconnect the VPN. Tap shop.
- The shop shouldn't open, will likely redirect you to the app section in the play store. If not, repeat steps 1, 2, 4 and 5.
- Clear the app data of: The play store, play music, play games (if you have it), and google play services.
- Relaunch the play store (with the VPN off) and it should ask you to accept the T&C on your old account. If not, swap accounts to your main account.
Congratulations, you should now have the US play store. If not, repeat the steps. Took me a week to get this right.
