Five Months into Maintenance

Have not written an update in a few months as I much prefer reading what others are doing. It amazes me to read the stories from others and the approach that works for them on maintenance. Whether you are on this medication for life or have come off the medication and succeeding, it really does make my day hearing these success stories.

As for my life on maintenance, it is a very boring story. Not much has changed since my last update. I am still on 10mg after dropping down from 12.5mg. All that I can say is the medication just works and I am just enjoying life. My weight fluctuates by two or three pounds, never higher or lower.

At home, I have become not just a better cook, but more patient and definitely far more creative. I used to get irritated when I would hear people say that you need to build sustainable habits. A year ago, that sounded boring and repetitive. I can honestly say that there is nothing repetitive in my diet, but it is sustainable. I am loving food now more than ever, I just make better choices. As I spend a lot of time in Mexico and central America, I have fallen in love with their foods over the years. I don't know if it is good timing or maybe I just did not look hard enough, but I am finding ingredients that were not easily accessible, easily available now at speciality shops, online and even at my local Tesco, Waitrose or Aldi.
