How good should we expect
We just had brand new oak floor installed as part of our kitchen remodel. The installer used a sealer and two coats of oil based poly. We were out due to VOCs while the finish was being applied. When we came back the floors looked beautiful until we looked closer. There is lots of grit in the floor. I would say 2-5 per square inch, though just a wild ass guess as I am not home. It is pretty clear that the debris is from the sliding door being opened while they worked and/ or Sheetrock dust from around roughed windows that wasn’t cleaned up or taped off. When standing we don’t really notice it but on our hands and knees it is obvious. Our other floors that were refinished years ago don’t show any such bits.
Are we being unreasonable to ask that it be fixed so there are no obvious bits in the finish?
