my fiance (22M) and I (23F) want to get eloped but it is frowned upon in our community

my fiance (22M) and I (23F) have been thinking about elopement. background: we have been living together for 4 years (5 years dating). we are studying at the same uni, but he is starting his master's studies and i am finishing up my bachelor's degree.

the uni offers cheaper and more comfortable housing for married students, so my fiance suggested to elope, so we would save up money to buy our own apartment in a couple of years.

problem: we live in a more conservative community (we are not though), thus getting eloped is frowned upon, which means we would have to keep our elopement a secret even from family and friends. We are engaged but plan to have an official wedding in 2 years.

Question: Any advice on this?
