Leaving company within a week of joining

Hi everyone. I joined Amazon Virtual Customer support on 26 and attended initial training sessions for 2-3 days max. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, I cannot continue with the role and I asked my training manager for resignation formalities. He said serve a month notice or pay. I checked in the offer letter which states, serving a month notice or paying a months salary. I can't pay but also I can't work. What options do I have here? I apologise if this is not the correct subreddit for this. I also would like to know the future repercussions if i decide to apply again but for a Software Role. Thank you for any advice.
