Looking for Civil Attorney, High Likely Asbestos Exposure & Landlord Negligence
Location: North Dakota
I’m trying to find a civil attorney outside of my area, located in North Dakota and who’s willing to take on a case involving asbestos exposure, unpermitted renovations, and serious landlord negligence.
The background:
Last year, my family moved into a rental home that had undergone major renovations before and during our tenancy. We later discovered exposed vermiculite insulation (presumed asbestos-containing material) in areas where demolition occurred. The HVAC system had been running the entire time, likely circulating the dust and fibers throughout the home.
There was no testing, no warnings, no permits, just hazardous conditions.
I have: • Photo and video documentation of the site and materials • Text messages and other written communications with the landlord • A third-party inspection report raising asbestos concerns • Medical documentation and timeline of symptoms/exposure • A draft legal case, almost ready to file
The problem:
Several local law firms in my city declined or went silent, possibly due to conflicts of interest or local political influence involving the landlord. I’m not naming names publicly, but I suspect that local connections are blocking progress.
I’m looking for:
A civil attorney with experience in asbestos/environmental exposure, housing/tenant rights, or habitability
Preferably outside my County, to avoid conflicts
Someone who’s responsive and willing to work with a client who’s organized and has detailed documentation
If you’ve dealt with anything similar, or know someone who does environmental or housing litigation in North Dakota or nearby states, please drop a comment or DM me.
I’m serious, prepared, and ready to move forward.
