I can't remember the last time I've heard silence and it's killing me
I'm autistic so I cherish moments of silence. My partner who I love dearly needs constant noise. We already live in a loud neighborhood, so periods of silence are a rarity. I work from home, my partner doesn't work. My job involves talking to people. All day. So when I get off work I'm already overstimulated (especially due to the aforementioned loud neighborhood on top of a job that has constant noise) My partner has a lot of trauma and ADHD so I get it, but he needs the TV on all. The. Time. He's also partially deaf so it's loud. We are struggling financially right now so we haven't been leaving the house much. And it's a small place so we're on top of each other all the time. He also never shuts the fuck up. I love him and love talking with him, but it's constant. Today he was listening to music and I asked him if he could use headphones. He takes the hint and puts on the headphones and the neighborhood is actually quiet right now but now he's loudly SINGING. It's driving me to my breaking point.
