Did Arvo actually help the group in some way?

We know the group would pragmatically be better off without him because Luke was stupidly killed at the lake, but they had a truck that was fixable which got Clementine and AJ and Kenny and Jane to make some distance in the wasteland. If there was no truck, would the group have tried moving on and die some other way with Kenny and Jane still hating each other or would Mike, Bonnie and Arvo choose to stick with the group?

Also we hear Mike say “Kenny must have the keys” as Clementine catches them trying to leave so they honestly didn’t even have a plan.
