Confusion with the ending

So, I just saw the ending where >!Ilinca and Anton explained what had happened in the end to all the characters.!< As being in Vlad route and not choosing azure for living a happy life.. I am actually a bit confused as to how they (Ilinca and Anton) narrated their lives, as >!if they don't exist there anymore!<.. That makes me a bit sad, I mean I get it, living on a good long life and in the end everybody had lived a really good life but, It seems a bit off the track and weird. Like I can be completely wrong for interpreting this in the wrong way
Plus if my assumptions are true.. Does that mean Ilinca and Anton are >!somewhat immortal!<? Because if >!everyone doesn't exist anymore!<.. how do they??
