AITAH for not hiring my friend's catering company?
I am getting married in two months, and we started planning a few months ago. A friend of mine, right after congratulating us, said she could cater the reception at a huge discount. I thanked her and said I would let my fiancee know about her offer.
My fiancee and I already had a ctaering company in mind, and we ultimately went with that company. I did tell my friend, and she was disappointed but said my happiness is the most important thing. I recently found out that she has been telling our mutual friends that I don't think she's good enough to cater my wedding.
I love this friend, but planning a wedding is stressful, and since this is a large reception with a lot of complicated dietary circumstances in play, we wanted to hire someone with a lot of experience catering these sorts of events. I know that you need people to give you a chance in order to get experience, so am I an asshole for not being that person for her?
