Remus Trimble speaks about the technology industry in Kanata
In Kanata, Remus Trimble talks tech, walking out to "Raise a Little Hell" by Trooper
Kanata is always where I've called home. I've represented it since I entered politics, and I intend to continue representing it. However, there is an aspect of Kanata which has always been difficult: The technology sector. The Tech Park has such different requirements and needs to the rest of the country, making it a very interesting area to work and live in. Especially when thinking about Communism, the technology park is not filled with blue-collar workers as with other areas of the country. However, it is also not filled with money manipulators as on Bay Street. So, how does one reconcile the fact that neither is true?
Well, the Communist Party would treat a technology job like any other job. The first thing the Communist Party would do as part of its Three-Year Plan would be to nationalize the telecommunications industry, including technology. Technology workers would thus be afforded more pay, with workplace democracy and without wage-sucking pig bosses to deal with. However, this does not mean tech workers would be treated above other labourers. While technology is valuable, if the developers and engineers get screwed, the factory labourers get absolutely fucked. This is why a Communist Government would place equal value on both sides. We think of the workers striking, right now, in front of a health machine manufacturing facility because their capitalists couldn't store dangerous radioactive substances properly.
These workers deserve the same rights as those working at a desk to develop software, or in a lab to make semiconductor technologies. They deserve human decency, respect, true fair pay, and better-than-acceptable living conditions. Desk workers deserve this too. Every worker does, because every worker is not a capitalist. Capitalists are those who steal from workers. The money-shufflers, the bosses, the union busters.
Communists would stand up for workers, and stand against these obstructionist reactionaries. We would make sure Big Capital is put in its place: Nowhere. Canada will be a bastion of the Worker, a palace of the Proletariat. We will work to establish a global revolution, beginning from coast to coast, to free all labourers, farmers, and other members of the proletariat. We will ensure the abolition of currency, and the realization of communism, of fairness, of true living. Join this revolution, and join in your own fight, not one for the Capitalists in blue, the Capitalists in purple, or the Capitalists in Orange & Red.
